Satisfaction with heat pumps is high
A recently conducted survey by Nesta, the innovation charity, of over 2,500 heat pump owners and 1,000 domestic gas boilers concluded that heat pump satisfaction is high.
At Bounce Renewables we have believed this for some time but it’s good to hear from a leading organisation that heat pump owners are more satisfied with the running costs, than those with gas boilers. Owners are even more satisfied when they have moved away from electric, oil or LPG boilers.
In addition to the running costs owners consider them to be safe, reliable, and quiet heat sources that are effective for space heating and producing hot water.
Something we encounter on a regular basis are concerns with heat pumps suitability on older properties. The survey suggests that heat pumps are effective across the range of residential property types.
The survey also went on to make 3 recommendations:
1. Making clear, impartial information about heat pumps more easily accessible
2. Making it easier for people to use their heat pump once they have one
3. Reducing the time and disruption associated with installation
